Benefits of Quinoa

Quinoa, a South American seed vegetable, benefits blood pressure and blood sugar levels, reducing cholesterol, inflammation and subsequent heart disease and cancer. It is a low carb complete protein packed gluten free food often substituted for a grain.High magnesium levels normalize blood pressure as it relaxes blood vessels. High quercitin, omega 3 and saponin levels  reduce,  inflammation. The Journal of Food Science found the saponins in quinoa decrease nitric oxide, an inflammatory mediator, in a 2014 study.  It also inhibits inflammatory cytokines that reduce tumor necrosis. Quinoa  reduces obesity when ingested daily. It is a low sodium food high in dietary fiber. International standards are being discussed to assure quality. Nasa is considering quinoa as a cultivated crop for lengthy manned  space flights. Quinoa will surely be an important food for the future. Continue reading

Boswellia serrata Fights Chronic Inflammation

Boswellia serrata contains anti inflammatory compounds that reduce inflammatory bowel disease, arthritis, cardiovascular disease and cancer metastasis. Boswellia terpenes and acids, particularly, AKBA, 3-o-acetyl-11-keto-beta-bowelllic acid, inhibits inflammatory cells that stick to blood vessels causing many inflammatory diseases, including stroke and memory loss. Another component of Boswellia, incensole acetate, inhibits an inflammatory regulating complex inhibiting or slowing chronic inflammation throughout the body.

Boswellia is also neuroprotective against traumatic brain injury. Neuroprotection originates from incensole acetate. The effect is also antidepressant/antianxiety and benefits asmatic bronchitis.

Cancer and tumor necrosis is also benefited by Boswellia. It inhibits pro inflammatory cytokines and mediators. Ninety percent of death from cancer results from tumor metastasis, caused by inflammation. Recent research also found Boswellia decreases precancerous polyps and their formation in the small and large intestine up to 60% AKBA, the most potent boswellic acid, induced cell death in central nervous system tumors.

In recent studies, Boswellia extracts reduced the size of  arterial plaque up to 50%. Extracts also inhibit platelet stickiness and clumping. Chronic inflammation reduces blood flow, resulting in arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular, peripheral vascular disease and general aging. In rat studies, Boswellia reduced total cholesterol up to 48% and increased good cholesterol, HDL, by 30%. This can be done by reducing changes in pro inflammatory gene expressions.

In arthritic studies, Boswellia compounds have reduced and improved conditions in knee and osteoarthritis.

The healing compounds in Frankincense essential oil includes monoterpene hydrocarbons, ketones and spiritually, sesqueterpenes. These properties transform the recipient beginning with improved digestion, reduced inflammation and tumor formation, protecting immunity to transformation of the psycho spiritual nature of enlightenment. Boswellia serrata originates from India and has been used in Ayurvedic healing for many centuries. The properties of Boswellia carteri and sacra are considered the same. Sacra, Oman, is more expensive and has a lighter fragrance. When it comes to healing, the body's innate consciousness takes the best of available properties and makes the most of it. I have all three available. Contact me if I can help you. I am  involved in a small group of international distllers that grow and distill onsite in small, organically grown quantities. We only sell uncut, non commercially available essential oils for therapeutic  quality. I can be reached at www.aromahealthtexas.com or petitefl@aromahealthtexas.com
