Wormwood, Artemesia absinthe, Essential oil is a top note in perfumery and aromatherapy. It brings definition and attention to a blend. Its strong aroma lends to light dosing. A drop in a blend of herbaceous essential oils, mints, lavender absolute, citrus, patchouli, cedar wood, black spruce and spices is usually a correct dose. It blends well with several drops of tuberose absolute, producing an exotic, floral green and nearly euphoric aroma. Wormwood has been used historically in aromatherapy to reduce hysteria by inhaling small amounts. Avoid prolonged use. Wormwood is a nerve toxin when ingested and should be used cautiously in aromas. Do not use wormwood in a bath; avoid usage with children, nursing and pregnant mothers. It is safe to use in small amounts in a natural perfume.
