Oregano flower essential oil is used traditionally a topical an anti-fungal, which must be diluted in a carrier oil. It is toxic internally in any form. Avoid during pregnancy because it can stimulate menses and subsequent miscarriage. Nursing mothers and children under 10 should not use it.
The odor is strong and not used in personal blends. Use it in massage oil blends or add 2 drops to a foot bath.
Oregano is a good insect repellent.
The very strong aroma can be used with lemongrass, basil, cedarwood, citronella, cypress, pine, tea tree and thyme essential oils.
