Myrtle (Myrtus communis) is known as a biblical herb, with a fresh, green scent that is lightly camphorous. It is traditionally used to keep skin soft and healthy in appearance.

Myrtle is not a good choice for asthmatics or those with lung diseases, children, pregnant or nursing mothers Never take it internally..

Myrtle yields an essential oil from steam distillation from flowering parts of branches. The gentle aroma is enjoyed by sensitive folks. It blends well with Lemon and Lemongrass, Lavender, Cypress, Sage, Sweet Orange and Bitter Orange. Use it sparingly.
