Ginger Zingiber officinales Essential Oil

1 dram (1/6 oz.)

Ginger-- (Zingiber officinales), has a spicy aroma increasing circulation and reducing symptoms of arthritis, muscular pain, productive coughs, sinusitis, nausea, and travel sickness. It can reduce inflammatory processes before they begin. I use it in the First Response blend and to reduce male impotence. Ginger thins the blood. I do not recommend it for chemotherapy patients or any condition that hemorrhaging is possible. The essential oil is a great carminative to remove gas and flatulence. However, I do not use it with children. Massage Chamomile Petite Fleur Essence (flower essence) on the tummy of young children. It will calm them and reduce gas pains and colic.

Dilute 2 drops of ginger in 1 cup of water or 1 tablespoon carrier oil, such as marula or red raspberry. The spicy aroma is perfect for Oriental blends. It also blends well with Coriander, Nutmeg, Rosewood, Cedarwood, Cabreuva, Cardamom, and Frankincense. A light touch can be accent Rose and Jasmine with a little pizzazz!
