Ginger (Zingiber officialness), has a spicy aroma historically used to reduce inflammatory symptoms, nausea and travel sickness. Ingesting the root has many other uses not associated with aromatherapy. The essential oil is often added to massage oils for deep penetration assisting the therapist.
Ginger thins the blood. I do not recommend it for chemotherapy patients or any condition that hemorrhaging is possible.
It is not recommended for pregnant, nursing mothers or children under 12.
The spicy aroma is perfect for Oriental blends. It also blends well with Coriander, Nutmeg, Rosewood, Cedarwood, Cabrueva, Cardamom, and Frankincense. A light touch can be accent Rose and Jasmine with a little pizzazz!
