The aroma is so fragrant and uplifting. Fimbriata creates very fragrant , light pink double frilled blooms in late spring, summer and autumn. The blooms are 2-3 inches, attracting birds, bees and butterflies on tall, erect canes. This disease resistant rose is native to Asia: northeastern China, Japan, Korea and south east Siberia along the beach fronts. They stand 5 feet and spread 4 feet. It is also known as Dianthiflora with blooms that resemble large dianthus. Related to Rugosa hybrids, Fimbriata is similar to semi wild Rugosa, with light to medium green, wrinkled, rough textured leaves. Hips are round, reddish and may vary in size. Rugosa roses and their hybrids are the hardiest roses to grow. Fimbriata is deciduous and hardy in cold climates with repeated freezes. It enjoys a sandy soil and full sun all day.
