Sage essential oil  has an herbaceous aroma with a much stronger  scent than Clary Sage. There are 900 species of Sage.  The salvia latera- folia is most used for essential oils. The effect of the oil  can be relaxing and used to clarify the mind.

Traditionally, it has been used in indigenous people's ceremonies. It's use dates to ancient Greece where it was used in temples.  

Properties include Camphor, a-Thujone, B- thujone, 1.8 Cineole and a-Pinene. Use it in small doses with caution. Avoid with pregnant, nursing mothers and children under 10.

 In a fragrance, Sage is a top note and blends well with Rose and Patchouli, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Geranium. Lavenders, Rosemary, Thyme, Tea tree and Vetiver. 

Avoid if lactating. Sage essential oil will dry the milk ducts.
