Vetiver, Vetiveria ziganoides, has an earthy, woody aroma, which becomes very pleasant when combined with lavender absolute and labdanum absolute. Vetiver is a good base note for blends, a great base note fixative in perfumery.
Vetiver is naturally calming and grounding. Vetiver blends well with Immortelle Frankincense, Tea tree, Tarragon, and herbal aromas. Dose lightly when used in blends with rose, geranium and/or Sandalwood. In a blend, vetiver can evolve into a dramatic scent. The essential oil is steam distilled from the root.

It is toxic internally and must be diluted before topical use.
