Sandalwood (Mysore santalum album), calms the mind and opens the heart. Properties include antispasmodic and sedative. Use it to relieve dry hacking cough, sore throat, laryngitis, cystitis, stress, barbers rash, dry cracked or chapped skin. Sandalwood can be worn neat, undiluted, or 1 drops in 1/3 cup of water or 2 tablespoons of carrier oil.Mysore is the finest sandalwood essential oil,regulated by the government. Harvesting is also protected to preserve the species. Steam distillation of 25 pounds  crushed wood produces 1 pound  of the essential oil. Sandalwood blends well with Frankincense, Rose, Jasmine, Ylang- ylang,benzoin styrax and lavender. As a fixative in perfumery, Sandalwood blends with most any scent. It has a tenacity allowing Sandalwood to have long staying power in a blend or worn neat.
