How to Create Floral Essential Oil Blends

Aromatherapy is designed to gather all of our senses into the present moment. It initiates a change in mood or stress management. We can feel attractive, yet complete in ourselves.

When creating a blend, decide which middle (heart) essences you want to be dominant. For example: Use 15 drops of heart notes in 1 oz. of a good carrier oil such as jojoba.

For example:

Floral scents include jasmine, tuberose, magnolia, ylang extra, helichrysum, linden blossom, osmanthus and rose. The rose floral scents include, Bulgarian, Moracin, Turkish and Indian. The rose family includes rose geranium, geranium and palmarosa.

Once you have chosen the heart aromas, consider which bass (low) notes will accent the blend. Florals blend well with balsamic base notes: hint of vanilla, Peru balsam, tonka bean, benzoin styrax, labdanum.

Resinous (light aromatic) base notes, such as frankincense, myrrh, or woodsy aromas, cypress, sandalwood or rosewood. Frankincense, myrrh and sandalwood blend well with all essential oils!

Start your blend by selecting a base note or trio of base notes. Add a total of 6 drops to your carrier oil. Immediately add 15 drops total of your selected floral aromas. Rose or jasmine blend well with all essential oils!

Complete your blend with a total of 9 drops of your head (top) essential oils. Bergamot and lime blend well with all essential oils. Citrus, cardamom, black pepper, nutmeg, holy basil spearmint and lavender are also good choices.

Essential oils and Petite Fleur Essences for Snack Attacks

Essential oils and Petite Fleur essences are the perfect solution for snack attacks. Their aromas are delivered to the brain as quickly as you can sniff or apply them. Snacking and hunger between meals is often caused by lower levels of tryptophan, which turns into serotonin in the brain. Lower available serotonin levels are associated with mild depression .The aromas in Cravings therapeutic blend and Curb Appetite Roll on enhance serotonin levels and reduce appetite. Tryptophan, a precursor to serotonin, is created in the stomach, so it makes sense that people snack more when serotonin levels are less than optimal.

Cravings includes Knotted Marjoram and Osmanthus absolute, used for to cut cravings for centuries. Curb Appetite includes Saffron absolute and patchouli aged for many years to reduce appetite and mild depression. Saffron can be as effective as standard antidepressants for mild to moderate depressions. It also protects against liver, stomach, lung, breast, colon, blood and bone cancers as an ancient anti aging compound. These compounds are delivered in 1/100th of a second through inhalation and therapeutic touch.

With the onset of the holidays and  so many tempting treats, a daily application of these blends can protect your health and waistline.

The Healing Properties of Jasmine Grandiflorum Absolute

The heady scent of Jasmine grandiflorum absolute is a perfect scent for winter. It  dispels coldness, tiredness, weakness, hoarseness, laryngitis, wheezing and dry itchy feeling in the throat. The warm , pungent aroma enhances the body's ability to keep warm in cold conditions without overheating. When a chilly feeling starts to spread through your system, reach for the Jasmine. The ketone properties protect the lung and immune system, while the esters protect irritated, dry and inflamed skin. Cis- jasmone and methyl jasmonate have the ability to repair injured tissue and dispel mucous colitis brought on during cold weather.

The lightly sweet scent helps free the spirit from emotional restraint, anxiety, listlessness and general depression, often experienced during cold weather. The aroma helps us remember our freedom as it enhances  intuition. The smell is unforgettable. Many people who do not enjoy sweet flowery scents find Jasmine irresistible.

Cold sensitive folks often urinate frequently during winter time. Women may also experience a clear or white vaginal discharge. Wearing Jasmine grandiflorum can assist the reproductive and urinary system during this time. Nursing mother wear it to promote lactation. Wear Jasmine during delivery to assist the natural process. I don't recommend it during pregnancy.

For those who experience sexual disinterest and feelings  of inadequacy or undesirability, Jasmine grandiflorum will reawaken a natural passion. Winter is a great time to cuddle. And Jasmine is a great gift for the holidays.
