Angelica Root (Angelica arch angelica) has an earthy aroma that was historically used for the skin. The aroma is very grounding and used as a low note, or base for aromatherapy blends. A low note is added first and holds the aroma of the other essential oils for up to 24 hours when worn. This essential oil has a very earthy scent. A few drops are all that is necessary in a blend.
Avoid during pregnancy or with children under 5 years old. The essential oil is made from steam distilled roots. In Medieval times, Angelica root was worn or dispersed in the home for protection and cleansing, also providing a balance of natural oil for the skin. It has been used in aroma blends to promote beautiful skin.
