Tumeric, Curcuma longa essential oil, is antiseptic and anti inflammatory. It helps retard both estrogen positive and negative cancer cells and can be used with chemotherapy. Always ask your physician before using any herbal during chemotherapy. Topical use only and in an inhaler.
Curcumin is also protects normal cells for premalignancies, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis ,as an adjunct therapy. It raises cortisol and reduces inflammation. Irritable bowel may also be calmed by the properties of Tumeric. The diluted topical use of this essential oil helps protect the liver from alcohol toxicity. Topical use may be applied on or near the affected area. When in doubt, massage onto the tummy or bottom of the feet. I do not recommend tumeric for gallstones because it increases bile flow. It has been used topically during pregnancy for centuries in India. Consult your physician.
The fragrance is earthy, woody and a little spicy. The aroma is very strong by itself. It blends well with ginger and patchouli, which compete with the strong odor. I use it in the First Response aroma blend as an anti inflammatory. The essential oil is steam distilled from the roots. Tumeric is one of the most helpful essential oils used today.
